Hi FABO:

I'm getting ready to dive in to my weatherstripping, window sweeps etc. and now I'm looking at these hairy looking things wondering what they are, what is their function and where to go to find replacements.

I haven't started taking the door apart yet to take a better look as I have a feeling things connected to the glass could get 'complicated'

As always, your input is appreciated.

Those support the glass when rolling the window up and down, and the best thing as far as I have seen was to wrap those with felt.
You don't see them normally anyway and the felt protects the glass from getting scratched up when it slides across them.
Notice that they are depth adjustable (via that whole metal strip) which helps to stabilize the glass in the door between them and the fuzzy strip of the "whiskers" between the outside of the door skin and the glass.

I just got done realigning my passenger door to the body and then the glass to the opening on my dart yesterday after new rubber window seals and "whiskers" so yea, it can get a little involved. :)

Thanks TrailBeast.

I'm wrestling with the notion of replacing these things or monkeying with the door sweeps at all until I figure everything out, but that info helps. On one hand, the only time the car sees water is when I wash it which is quite often but while it's all ripped apart... (If it ain't broke.?..)......

Indecision is the key to flexibility :-(

Well, I'm pretty current on the whole thing so if you need to ask questions go for it.

I got my replacements for the other window/door soft parts from a company called Top Cat.
A little pricey, but good quality and fit.
The only time my car see's water is when it rains (in AZ), or I wash it. :D

I used the top cat whiskers on my mored dor, very happy with them except the ones on the outside of the car had a chrome lip on top and were in good shape so I just changed the inside ones. The "tabs" I covered with the loop part Fuzzy side of some Velcro tape I had. worked pretty well.

The Velcro loop sounds like a good idea. Thanks for that!

I'll keep you in mind TrailBeast; going to wait until it warms up a bit outside before flying at it, just gathering up the parts now.

I'm sure I'll need to adjust something, sounds like adjust 1 / adjust the other 5 too.

Just an update - I took Halifaxhops' advice and used peel n stick Velcro loop. I also built the 2 spots up with little blocks of rubber gasket foam before wrapping them with the Velcro. Just installed the stabilizer bars and it all seems to work great.

FABO comes through again!

You got it. :D
Nice job, and I'm sure the Velcro stuff will work just fine.
My windows have tint on the inside, so I sprayed the fuzzies with armor all to keep the marring of the film to a min.
