I am going to minitub my 67 Dart over the winter and want to run 15 x 10 Cragar S/S wheels. Has anyone here used a 15" x 10" wheel with 3 3/4" backspace and what size tire did you use? Pictures would be nice also.
This is the look I want. Not my car.

Assuming you've got an A-body 8 3/4, you'd have to shorten the rear axle to use that backspace. Probably by a good 7" or so to even be in the ballpark.

It is an 8 3/4. I will have to shorten it somewhere between 7" to 8" as you mentioned. Trying to figure out a tire size.

You can probably fit darn near anything you can find up to about 28" tall and with a section width up to about 13.5".

On my '71 GT there's about 14.5" from the stock quarter lip to the frame rail. 72BBswinger is running 335's on his mini-tubbed and spring relocated '72 Dart.

There's a few examples in this thread, just ignore the Duster as that's a different ball game.
Widest rim and tire for full mini tub to frame

28" is as tall as I want to go. I have 26 1/2" tall tire now. Thanks for the link, good info in there.

295/50R15s

On a mini-tubbed '67 295's would be a piece of cake. Inches of extra room, kind of a waste of a mini-tub.

I wouldn't run anything smaller than 325/50/15's if I was going to put in the work to do the mini-tub, shorten the axle and relocate the springs. There's a few DOT tires in that size, Mickey Thompson ET Street R's, Nitto NT 555 R's, M&H Racemasters etc. The Nitto's are probably going to be the best on the street, not sure they're the best for the track though. Only thing is you have to be careful with the front to rear spacing in the wheel opening, that's a 28" tall tire so you might have to cheat the axle backward a smidge for the best clearance.

Here's a thread on 325/50/15's Post your 325/50/15 wheel and tire combos

Nitto 555's in 325

BrianT's car. Also, he's got 15x10's with a 3.5" backspace and the rear end narrowed 8" total (4" each side), so that gives a good idea of what you'd need to do with the rear axle. Look like BrianT has the location down perfect.

I started with 295 tires but they were hard to come by so I stepped up to 325 nitto drag radial.
I also use a stock a body 8 3/4 and home made steel rims with dog dish caps. 15 x 10 rims with 7 1/4 backspace (big bolt pattern 28 inch axles)

Duster360- where are you in Ala.

I like the deep dish look
one thing, that happened in the past.
was make sure your spare will fit
that is the reason I run 10" on 5" back space
(325-50 x 15)
so that a stock rim will fit the narrowed rear, if needed

I ran Hoosier 325 15 15's on my tubbed 72 Scamp with a 3.75 back space wheel, fits no problem. My car has the original outer tubs with a manufactured inner tub.
