just got back from the track firtst time out
what can i do to make my duster hook up?
446ci iron big block (501hp 527ft)
dynamic custom converter flashes at 3800
4.56 gear
275/60 M/T drag radials 10lb and then 8lbs
cal-tracs too
i tried leaving at 3000,2800,2000, idle
1st pass
60ft 2.459
1/8 8.570
Mph 92.28
roasted the tires leaving at 3000

2nd pass
60ft 2.108
1/8 8.20
mph 88.73
rolled out then gradually got into it since i roasted the tires so bad. and go swirly on the other end

3rd pass
60ft 2.09
1/8 8.104
mph 90.50
i left around 2000. it felt better than the first converter pass but still spun really bad. but i could feel it pulling good on the top end.

last pass of the night against a 5 speed mustang
won on the tree .427 to a 752 leaving at 2500
60ft 2.15
1/8 8.19
mph 88.58
night time in the cold. car was all over the track. it felt like the car pulled its hardest. and set it spun bad this time too. the only thing different is i didnt feather out the spinning.

im thinking of get slicks and trying it again. do yall think i have too much tension on the cal tracs. what shock should i use.:pale:
HELP ME

You have about half the air pressure in your tires that's likely required. Run them around 18 psi as a start point. 8-10 psi is WAY TOO LOW on drag radials

Set the cal tracs to a baseline that calvert recommends. something like zero preload on the drivers bar and 2-4 flats on pass side with drivers weight in the seat. I hope you have good shocks because you'll need them to control body separation when the bars hit.

The front end and how it's set up makes a HUGE difference in hooking up a vehicle.
