I'm going to run this setup from
A 71 only 383/440 HP, the consensus is that it from
B body

Im leaning toward gloss black powder coat

I want to leave it original except possibly for
Paint

The red is going on the spark plug wires, with brief spacing to show yellow wires

I'm trying to get the parts to make the hot air door working to let the air into the filter
to keep the temp in the housing to maintain 100F,

I read up on it. I had not known that in cold environments
Without this arrangement the paper filter would freeze, blocking air

According to the article,

Deicing
Emissions are lower at 100F
Provided running smoothness

I will be in Denver in early June, don't want and ice related conditions the coming winter

I agree with the semi gloss. Gloss is too much. That'll make it look like a cheap used car lot clear coated it.

No offense but the way the rest of the motor looks I'd just clean it up real good and run it like that with a patina look and I wouldn't use those red things on the wires...

Although the general 70s look is what he's after, he's far from finished with it. I think the semi gloss will look fine once the rest of it is like he wants it.

Denver winters are not as extreme as other parts of the country.

The air is very dry, I am an hour north and have never had any issues running my 273 2bbl even in -10 Deg F (with the top down!)

 So I can't have an opinion ok thanks.

Clean it up and run it as-is. Spend the time on other items in the engine compartment.
Yes, good plan, get the car rolling worry about it later
I want the air cleaner to to pop when the hood is up
* might want to add some custom touches with out decreasing the value of it

and I'd paint that heater blower motor and seal ring black. :poke: :)
The blower motor is leaving along with the heater box, I'm thinking of something custom to cover the holes
Maybe chromed steel plate
