I am going to remove my tail light bezels and GT emblems from my 68 dart. Also have to restore the headlight bezels. Was this a satin black? Also what can brighten the GT emblems before I repaint the edges? Anyone have luck with a particular pot metal brightener? I know they will not look like new from the factory, but a little clean up would be nice. Thanks

I've used 0000 steel wool with good results on emblems/pot metal. Give it a try....

I use bronze wool on almost everything metal, and wood. It's softer than steel so it won't scratch harder metals which is almost everything on cars. It doesn't shed as bad as steel, and it won't rust like steel.

I use 0000 steel wool on a lot of parts. It works great. It won't hurt the emblems. After you have it polished up and cleaned, spray the entire thing with SEM Trim Black. No need to mask anything off. Once it's dry. Take some Lacquer thinner and wipe the access paint off of the face of the emblem. The paint will come right off. The headlight and tail light bezels will require some masking. Don't worry if you don't get a crisp line. You can always wipe off the access with lacquer thinner.
