i have a 440 that came with my dart,by looking at the parts on the machine shop bill and parts use ,looks like a 500ci,tell me what you guys and gals think,its a 440,060 over,375 crannk,6.76 rods

Well that does not sound correct. A 500cid 440 would be .060 bore, 6.760 rod would need a 4.150 stroked crank.

A 3.75 stroked crank is a stock 440 size. So i would say a 446..
 
First thing I'd do is call the shop and get their numbers straighted out. Otherwise you are just guessing.

For me the answer is simple

"It's a 440"

well if it is 440 with a 4.375 stroke crank it would need a 7.1 rod and it would make 528... I have not heard of using a stock length rod with that size crank but that is not saying it would not be done.. It would have some very nice custom pistons for sure..
 
a +.060"(4.375" bore) 440 is 452 cubic inch with the stock stroke crank(3.75"). if the heads are off measure from where the piston stops at the top and then from there to where the piston stops at the bottom, that's the stroke. then do the guitar jones math.
