Hello,

I have a 74 Duster project that has been sitting in storage for a year now and it's time to do something about it.

It's a factory 318 car with a 904 and 8-1/4 rear.

I bought a good running 360 out of a 81 dodge truck.

I know I need a new oil pick-up and a car type oil pan.

I know the 360 is externally balanced so what do need to get to accomplish that?

I want to order all I need from summit.....

I just need to get the work done on the bottom of the motor and get it in the car. ( lack of space in new garage )

Im going to pay a local shop to pull out the 318 then find someone to blast and paint the engine bay then have the shop drop in the 360 after the bay and the block are painted.

Then I'll talk to you guys about all the manifolds and the carb.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can make your 318 mount brackets work

You'll either have to get a different torque converter weighted for a 360, or (the easier) is to buy a B&M aftermarket flex plate which is weighted for the engine. Be careful it's for a 360LA, not a magnum, or cast crank 340.

Pretty much everything else should bolt in. You'll have to use your old 318 manifolds, which are not the best. Depending on what you have (power steering, etc) you probably will want to use the 318 pulley set up.

Thanks, Got to find a pair of iron a-body 340 or 360 manifolds
We are looking to keep it very stock-looking under the hood....Just want to sqeeze a little more zip out of the 360

You could send the factory exh manifolds to Extrude Hone to gain some better flow from them.
