I would say the top two holes should take the "Barracuda" script emblem.

The bottom two holes take either a "V-8" emblem that is rectangular, or the round "Formula S" badge depending on if it was a 318, 340, or 383 car.

318 got the rectangular "V-8" emblem, the 340 & 383 cars got the round "Formula S" badge. Since the two holes look like they are a little offset/crooked for the square badge, I would guess the Formula S badge.

What engine did it originally come with?

I have a red 68 Formula S in back that I can get pictures of in the morning.

Are those original fenders/holes.

If they are aftermarket replacements, maybe someone mis placed the hole on the rear bottom of the driver's side while drilling by hand. I think that the passenger side looks right with them being "even".

The original factory right (passenger) fender also had a hole for the pentastar emblem that goes at the bottom behind the tire opening.

The barracuda script goes on top it has three pins. The passenger side looks like it has all the correct holes and in the right places.
Below the barracuda script there is a small rectangular emblem with a small fish and a V8 inside of it.

No idea of the origin. I bought the body for 700$ bare naked... No nothin! Just never paid attention to the holes until recently...aka "after paint"...

It was an original 318 car.

Rocky is correct... What about the drivers side ? Bottom holes are too far apart for a "S" badge it appears ? Maybe a 383 fender ?

383 badge has three pins also. formula-s emblem would be centered with the barracuda script. it has to be the fish-v8 emblem. The left fender has incorrectly drilled holes. The v8 emblem once properly drilled might cover the weird offset drilled hole.

looking at a 383 emblem the pins are offset not sure to the extent of your fender though.

They only put 383 badges on the fenders for the 67's. 67 did not put the engine size in the hood inserts, just lines/ribs.

In 68 they used the round Formula S badge and put the engine size in the hood inserts. and the hood inserts were smooth, without the ribs.

An original 318 car in 68 got the rectangular V-8 emblem under the Barracuda script.

Good to know. I have several scripts and the pass side does fit the cuda script and v8/fish emblem.

I just dont see any signs of mods anywhere on the other fender.? Could be an old aftermarket fender that was improperly drilled ...I guess ?

Krazy, that is correct. someone obviously drilled that hole for some reason?
I am thinking at some point someone may have added a 383 emblem to the fender? it is the only emblem with off set pins.

Fender for 67-9 were never repopped in metal. Just an oddball hole. unfortunately you caught it after it was painted.. UGH!
