I want to do a little practice welding on some scrap before I jump into welding on my car. I have removed the body side moldings which has left 1/4" holes down the sides of my car. I'm going to weld em up before paint.

Thanks

I measured mine at about .035, but your results may vary... Practice on some 20gauge if you can't get your hands on an old fender.

I read a simple trick to fill molding holes, and it works pretty slick...use a 10p box nail. The head diameter was nearly perfect for my job, and you have a nice handle to hold it in place as you tack it, then cut it off. Sure beats trying to fill a hole with weld.

Yup, that's exactly what I did on the Coronet. It is the ticket!
