Went to bolt my new headers on tonight and found out that my old bolts aren’t long enough due to the thick flange. What is everyone using that is running TTI headers?
TTi header bolts
If they are brand new....they should have come with a set...they are about 1/4 longer....
I used stainless with 12 point heads . I had trouble with the second bolt on the drivers side . Made a special wrench for it . I got tired of tightening them so I got a dead soft aluminum gasket , works great .
I have a set of bolts from my TTI headers i only used once for my dyno/break in session and the collector gaskets, if you want PM me and if you pay shipping you can have them, also if I may make a suggestion look into remflex gaskets for your gaskets they are a little pricey but man do they seal good.
stainless steel 5/16" x 1¨ coarse allen head bolts . Use a ball allen and stubby allen to tighten once before and several times after heat cycles.
Hopefully those work. These header bolts have been a head ache.
I sure wish ARP would increase the length of their header bolts from 3/4" to 1".... Dunno why they make them so short... if you have 3/8" flanges, and then use a gasket, you have less than 3/8 of thread engagement, which is not really enough IMO.
ARP is so hard to work with, if you're not a top fuel dragster they kinda piss on you. I inquired on them making some longer valve cover studs for the small block Mopar and they quoted me a THOUSAND dollars. All day I repeated that number in my head and just laughed like I was high on crack. What a jiffy.
So did you call TTI? as have been said, should be included in the box, with gaskets, stickers, destructionsmanual and reducers/collectorextensions .Headers were brand new. No bolts in the box. Maybe I’ll give TTI a call tomorrow.
