i am in desperate need of info..... what is the correct length a driveshaft for a 70-72 dart with 34 4-speed, and 8.75 rear?

someone told me that a drive shaft out of a car with a 904 and 8.75 would fit correctly also, is that correct?

anyone know the length?

well, i do not have one, a member has one for sale, but i need a length to give him, so he can measure

Hey Plot,If I knew your real name? Sliding my body under my Duster in my garage with flash light and measuring tape.. I'm seeing 50 1/2" Hope this helps! Craig.

joe by the way.lol i thanks you so much sir. always a pleasure

My 67 dart convertible, 4 speed & 8 3/4 has a 53" drive shaft (think that was to centerline of universals) . I think the 67 & 70 has the same wheel base. The hardtop/convertible has a longer wheelbase than a post car.

I also think the duster has a 108" wheelbase and dart is 111"

My 2 cents and it might not be worth a dime

The two driveshafts you mention should interchange. They should be about 52" long measured from center to center on the u-joints. There are many models with that length driveshaft....mostly Dart Swingers and Valiant Scamps but also '70-1 Challenger with a 7 1/4!

so if the d.s is like 50 1/2- 51 1/2 will still work?,, and are all the universal joints the same size?

The 51 1/2" one should but I don't think I would use the 50 1/2".....would probably vibrate. U-joints should all be the 2 1/8" ones those years.
