What is the best mini starter going , for under 250.00

For a 1970 340 dart swinger . Seen a bunch at summit but no idea which is good . Prices range from 90- 400.00 . Not a high compression motor , need the mini for new tight tube headers . So far it has started feine with the stock starter , but it won't fit .
 
I bought one from NAPA for a 96 dakota with a 318 and it fits fine, it's a lot smaller then then the stock one. Can't remember what I paid but I'm sure it was less then $100. My headers aren't tight tube though.
 
got to local salvage yard,any magnum motor has the right starter.will be the same as you would buy from summit,or jegs.
 
I got mine of ebay for like $80.00.

I seriously think they're all made in the same factory

Have you installed yet , price is right $56.00 canadian , just never heard of them . Isit a rebuild or new ?
 
Got mina at a junk yard off a later model dodge van 20$ been doin it's job for four years now with no problems

The $15.00 to $20.00 ones I get at the junkyard.
 
Auto zone life time warranty = a life time of replacing it.
Junk yard sounds good if it`s a non rebuilt core
 
That's B.S. I've have the same late model starter from Autozone for probably 7-8 years now. Healthy smallblock with just over 10 to 1 compression & a heavy 4 speed flywheel. Starts nearly instantly cause it rolls over so well.

not sure who were asking, but, mines new
not installed yet, I hope to everything back together next week, if work,kids,etc give me time

mopar starter on ebay
 
Mine was a $85 dollar one from Car Quest. It has worked perfect fro the past 3 years. Mike
 
go to your local junk yard get one from any RWD 92 ish- 98ish cheap and reliable.
