I just got the adapter from Classic and it doesn't seem like it is going on all the way. the nut just goes past the top thread on the shaft. I cant seem to get a good picture of it to show. It is aligned with the keyway on the shaft and adapter, any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. this is a 71 duster column if that makes a difference.

That looks about like mine. I was able to put the washer and nut on and had some threads showing. I just assumed that’s how they all were.

I just made a thread asking this very same thing! @RustyRatRod sent me here and it appears that this is just the way it goes, I installed mine tonight and this is how it looks.

my turn signal still functions and like others, I was able to put the washer and nut on and still have some threads exposed, so I guess that is just the way they are.
Thanks everyone for the pictures and replies.
