i'M THINKING ABOUT RUNNING MY 67 NOTCHBACK CUDA IN S/S AS A 67 I CAN USE A 273 OR 383 , AS A 68 I CAN USE A 340 OR A 383. AS A 69 I CAN USE A 340 383 OR 440. SO MY QUESTION IS WANT MAKE A 68 AS IN MARKER LIGHTS GRILLE ETC. SAME GOES FOR 69 THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Each year had unique tail lights (and back-up lights), and finish panels on the trunk lid.
Each year had unique grills. 67 and 68 are interchangable, 69 is not.
67 had no marker lights, 68 round and 69 rectangular.
67 and 68 had the same hood with unique inserts. The 68's also had the engine displacement called out when the car was a formula S (i.e. cars with 340's or 383's) in the insert.
69 has a completely different hood and front filler panel to match. The hood didn't have inserts but optionally could have had two small scoops.

Don't know what the rules are but if you can only run the engines offered for that given year I would think they would use the VIN to determine the year an not subtle trim differences.

Weren't there some slight interior differnces, as well?

There is a 68 Dart running a 440 in SS/GA I believe and there has been some interest in why he can run a 440 in a 68 when the factory did not put it in until 69. But that Dart runs 9.70's in SS/GA and has to use the flat hood with the bulges but it has no fresh air. It runs very good as I feel the combo in a Cuda would run as good or better. Ron

Don't you consider the 68 Hurst build Dart GSS' factory built? They were sold with a 440 wedged between the fenders.

The GSS cars came from Spaulding Dodge (AKA Mr. Norm) and they were built at his dealer ship.

The 68 Hurst built cars were the Hemi Super Stock Barracudas and Darts.

Yep thats the silver and blue one and you are right its a real clean car ! And yes the 68 Darts with 440's were Mr Norm cars and not factory built. Ron
