I am installing a 360 into my 72 Demon. I really want a milidon pan. I am concerned with fittment around full length headers. Does anyone have a part number for what they are using? Better yet if you are a Demon owner and possibly have a 360 what are you using and with what brand headers?

Use tti headers, the pan I'm using is milodon's new road race oil pan

I have a Dart Sport with the Milodon 8 qt. pan and TTI headers. No problems except for putting a notch in the K-frame for clearance for the front passenger side corner of the sump. Only a couple of other headers may fit with the 8 qt. but I don't recall which ones. But the Milodon is much nicer than the Moroso, is a little shallower without giving up capacity and has the drain plug in the back. Last I saw, the 360 Moroso had a drain in the bottom! TTI's offer may advantages, including great fit, plenty of ground clearance, no need for a 90* oil filter adapter and are much easier to install than most other headers.

Their new 7 qt. pan may have addressed the k-member and header issues, but I'm not 100% sure. Naturally, it gives even more ground clearance than the 8 qts.

There are two low profile Milodon drag pans. One is 7 3/4" sump (pn 30936/ 30941pn ) and the other is 8 3/4" sump (30935/ 30940). Which are you guys specifically running?

7 3/4" sump (pn 30935/ 30940)

8 3/4" sump (pn 30936/ 30941)

With the 7 3/4 sump, milodon main stud kit for windage tray, and milodon windage tray you might have to dimple the are people call the steering linkage cutout for the rear windage tray bolts. I had to on my stroker with the road race pan that uses the same floor.

Here's an A-body TTI headed fitted to the mock up motor at the TTI plant that has the 8 quart 8 3/4" sump Milodon pan on it. Plenty of clearance.

I've got the 8 3/4" on my Dart Sport.

Header interference problems are usually on the passenger side against the rear/side of the sump.

You can see some of the pan/header/k-member relationship in the pic.

Do all of the k-members need to be notched for the pan? I have heard some additional notching may be required inside the pan for sump clearance. Is this true? I am looking for a pan that will have the least amount of issues but I want something better than stock.

A-body - yes, others - not sure.
Any modifications needed to the 8 qt. pan will be the result of having headers that are not compatible. A few, including TTI, fit fine. I haven't tried the 7 qt. pan to see if eliminates the need for a k-frame notch of if all header fit without mods.

Thanks for all the advise. I am planning on buying one tomorrow. Locomotion do you have a part number? Is it the one above?

Since the early Darts are a bit different and smaller than later models, it makes sense that you had to notch both sides. On mine I just had to cut a 90* V out of the lip and rewelded the edge. I didn't have to get into the OEM boxed area.

My Kevco pan fits with no problems.

I have the 30940 8 qt. pan.
The 30941 may have more clearance for headers and k-member, but is more expensive.

Slappy it sounds like your car see a lot of street duty. I'd sure go with the shorter 7qt pan. Less worrying and anxiety over the deeper pan.

Was just taking about oil pans at the local cruise in tonight. Cause the owner of Milodon was there with his 69 RR and he just got back from SEMA.

One thing about the 8 and 7 qt Milodon pans is the triangular kick out. That reduces windage more that a straight down pan. When the oil is whipping around down there, the angle make the oil curl back like a wave cresting back on itself.

The 7 qt pan has some tricks done to it make it perform like a deeper pan. That cutout that looks like its for suspension clearance, is NOT for suspension clearance. It's done to make the rear wall of the sump taller to keep oil from spilling back like you would get from a deeper pan. It make the rear wall of the sump almost the same height as the 8 qt pan.

BTW for you drag racers, Milodon just released at SEMA a new small block Mopar pro competion pans with a full length kick out and louved tray. Like the pro comp chevy pan here: http://www.milodon.com/oil-pans/drag-race-bbchevy-oil-pans.asp

I've been using the stock milodon 5Q with the baffle in it, with a modified windage tray for the last 10 years, low 12 sec car 1.66 60', stock pump, with 5Q and bottle of eos.

Autoxcuda does this 7qt pan require any notching of the k-frame? Thanks again guys for all the helpful info.

autoxcuda do you have a part number for the sump and pan? Do you know if the pan will work with a stock windage tray?

I had a Kevko. but it cannot be put in the car with the motor in the car. Also, the weld quality was so poor I returned it. Nice people, but very poor welding.

Yes, will work with stock tray.

7 3/4" sump pn 30936 for 318/340 and pn 30941 for 360

Sorry I flipped the part numbers around in the previous post.

Click on picture to link to the Summit web page of the 318/340 version

If you type into summit the 30941 part number you can look at the same pan in a 360 degree view. But for some reason the 30936 doesn't have that feature.
