hi i have 26/15/10 mt drag slicks an mt 15/255/60 street radial an 410 cube ,11.8 comp ,259/265 @ 050 solid flat tappet an 150 nos ,5000 stall trans brake 904 , 3.9 gears 3500 lbs. what tyres will help me run a 9.90 at the lowest rpm , what rpm should it xross the line at 135 mph thanks ian
 
With them slicks, you will need to be going at 6900 RPM to go 135MPH. May want to get some taller tires if you don't want to rev it that hard. Or mabby lower your MPH gole.

Then it looks like you are where you need to be then. I like to see a car go through the traps just over where it stops making its top power number. About 8-10% more RPM than were it the power curve starts to nose over.
 
What heads are on it? When do you squeeze it? (off the line?)
 
heads are cnc 245 indys , normally gas of the line with the engine making 100 hp less than it does now ran 10.6@128 with j heads, my 904 is stock except trans brake an low gear set might use second this time.
 
Ian the key to getting into 9's is 1st you have to be able run 1.30 in60 ft and those 391 wont cut it. engine needs to be able to go through lights at around 7600 rpm you need more diametor on tires so you can get bigger ft. print you need a roller cam that will let you acheive the rpm range and then there is air and fuel through carb. now i don't run my nitrus cause i don't like replacing engine parts.eventhough I have 210 shot on my car, once you get car around 10.20 . then give it a tast in3rd hopfuly it goes into 9's the 7600 rpms through traps means its still pulling slightley. and then there are trans isues revers manual valve body kevlar bands hopfuley your converter will stall at 5000/5400. your shifts will need to be on time and get rid of some weight.remember you are not a big block so its a lot harder and more costley go get im Gary

I agree you need more tire height to get the contact patch up. Then gear accordinly. But I think there's more to it. What rpm does it trap at now? Did you ever have the engine dyno'd? (not chassis... and engine dyno session)
 
it ran 6.7@103/10.63 @128 cross the line 6700 from memory 3500 lbs car 600 hp there aboults and 150 gas ,i no the cam is a bit small with those heads peak hp is around 7000 and shift at 7200 .thanks ian
 
no nines car ran 11.2@118 best 60 ft 1.54 with full street trim,street radials,tow bar ,etc no nos ,devolped oil leak on remote oil filter ,took some time to fix,tuned rear of car with the rancho ,car was pullen the wheels up ,no time to drop pipes twin 2 1/2 and the 150 shot , over all a fun day
