i was at the track last night doing some bench racing with a buddy, when it occured to me that i really have no clue what my dart should run.

car has a .221 @ .050 cam, weiand xcellerator intake, holley 600 tuned up to the motor, mopar 175k stall, orange box, with good wires, and tti's to an x pipe through magnaflows all 2.5" pipe. trans has a manual vb. rear end has a brand new sure grip with 3.91's, and a 275/60-15. car also has monoleaf springs and a caltrac setup.

car has been lightened a bit with:
aluminum wheels
fiberglass bumpers and bumper brackets
summit pro bucket plastic seats
- heater
- a/c
monoleafs and no spare tire.

what should my car weigh/run all things going right. this is my first mopar as well as my dads, and we were kind of wondering your opinion.

yes, it is tiny. its an isky 270 mega cam. the 318 has very little compression, so i didnt want to put too much cam in it.

I would guess you could push that setup into the 13's. Sounds like you lightened that thing up a bit. Is the rest of the interior stripped out? Provided you get tracking, that thing should run pretty good.

What heads do you have on it? Any porting done?

FYI, the cam duration is reported in degrees. That is why Mikel questioned your .221 number. It should be stated 221° at .050" lift. The Isky site says this is an oval track cam. Not sure why they designate it as such. But 270° advertised duration with only 221° at .050 seems like a slow ramp to me.

As a comparison, the Mopar 761 cam intake lobe is 268° advertised and 228° at .050. It also has 110° lobe seperation which would tend to decrease overlap and raise the cylinder pressure a bit. That would be helpful on a low numerical compression engine.

My semi-educated guess is 14.053 @ 98.5 MPH, with a 2.273 short time. At least, that's what Desktop Dyno/Drag tells me.

That's assuming stock heads with small valves.

That's pretty close to what my 318 ran in my Duster a few years back. That ran 13.958 @ 98.41 MPH best, with 60' times in the 2.1 range.

kick, butt. its the stock heads. i just didnt want to waste the 318, so i will be bracket racing it for the remainder of this year, and i was wondering on what numbers i should look for next wednesday at test and tune. thanks guys.
