what the HAY! sunroof?

Okay, bought a 71 Duster, it has a canopy sunroof, the trim tag says V3X, which is correct for a black canopy canvas folding sunroof. I connot find one thing about this sunroof, found the tech buletin, but no pics of cars, no owners of cars, nada, what the hell, do I have the only one?

V3X is the code for the canopy vinyl roof.

M51 would be the code for the sunroof for 1971.

And yes, they are out there, not a plentiful as the steel sunroofs, but they do exist.

This car (I believe) was restored by Alan Gallant from Burlington, Ontario, I don't know who the owner is now.

I know a guy with a 67 Barracuda Fastback, with a canvas sunroof. As long as he has owned the car it has had it, but I don't know the first year for those things.

Just found the info that you need.

M51 was the code for sunroofs on B-Bodies in 71.

You are correct---V3X is the correct code for an A-Body folding canvas sunroof in black.

How difficult is it to install a metal sunroof in a non sunroof car? Are they easy to get hold of or far too rare?

its not hard if you have the knowledge, tools, ambition ,a place to do it, and $$$$$$$$$$
i have a complete roof .it was cut from a 73 dart sport. not 4 sale.
