I am fixing up this car....

I'd like to keep the outside looking as close to stock as possible. That means a steel wheel with a hubcap, full wheel cover or a styled steel wheel.
I'd like to use the Road wheel that some people call the Magnum 500 if I can find a set in decent shape. I don't recall if they were ever used on this year of car. I have the large bolt pattern so anything from a B or E body will fit. I'm not interested in the Rallye wheels.

The style on the back of this Valiant are the wheels that I'd prefer....

Were these available on cars with the small bolt pattern? Every car that I have seen with them has the big pattern. I know that the small bolt Rallye wheels are rare.
I'm not one that is married to keeping a car all stock or original but it would be nice to know if this wheel was available on the Darts.

^^^ same, i've never seen the 500's in SBP

if you want to stay 14" there's several wheel covers that simulate mags that came on darts

Those Chrysler road wheels weren’t available in small bolt pattern. The 1970 and up rallye rims aren’t that hard to find in 14" and if wanted are available in 15" brand new from a couple different sources but I find that they really look out of place in 1969 and down cars.

I’m pretty sure Kelsey Hayes recall wheel were also Not available in small bolt pattern as well.

Unfortunately your Choices are limited with the small bolt stuff to oem steel wheels and hub caps, Cragar’s, 70 and up rallye’s, us mag has a Indy (jelly bean holes) wheel, used centerlines, and few other old school wheels if you can find them used like keystone back in the day I believe has a wheel…

Cool car. Thinking about a more door 6 banger myself if I can find a nice one

That’s cool. Never knew, perhaps all,of them indeed did have the wheels removed and replaced before delivery which I guess is essentially like saying they didn’t come with them.

I think that I have a pair of the W 18 wheel covers from post # 4 here. I'd actually be happy with a set of those.
I do worry a bit about losing hubcaps/wheel covers if/when I take a turn too fast. NO, I won't be re-enacting the Bullitt chase scene but I do like to turn corners a bit faster than the average guy.

W18 are heavy, but look cool. I have a set that is beat but look good at 20 feet. Had them on the A108 for a while, no fast corners though! LOL

Those particular ones almost look like Ford pieces, made in 14 and 15 inch diameter, and they were as others have mentioned never available in sbp. I do know that some of the Ford ones were specific to drum brake applications and will not fit the hub of a disc brake rotor. (ask me how I know)

'69???? B bodies could have had Road wheels we all know , but A bodies??? Good question. I bet 99.9 % of '69 4 door A bodies had full wheel covers!!??? Cheap buyers could have just done the cheap dog cap thing!!
Small bolt pattern Road wheel????? I doubt it.
'67 Road wheels had the rims chromed, and 68 up had trim rings is my bet.
I have never seen SBP Road wheels, but there is lots I have never seen!!

I may use a 15" wheel just to have a tire with a shorter sidewall while having a decent overall height like 24 1/2" or maybe 25".
I have BIG bolt pattern on the car. My main interest is to use something that looks period correct even if it isn't 100% OEM correct.
Most of these 4 door cars were fitted with full wheel covers from what I have noticed.

In this case I think the road wheels (magnum 500 by some) would look good. 215/60r15 is 25.15" tall. Should fit the front ok and fill out the rear better too. Imho

Were not all the oem Road wheels (magnums) 14 inch?? I wonder if they are repoped today in 15s today??
I agree, beautiful wheels!
They were coded w-21 and weee described as road wheels. Most people call them magnum 500’s which I think is a ford thing/description

"Magnum 500" was the manufacturer's name for the wheel that was also sold after market.

The same company (Motor Wheel) also made them for ford and gm...but ford and gm also got 14x7 and 15" wheels :(
