manual reverse valve body
10" coan 3500 converter

Rear end and suspension:

Mancini weld in frame connectors
8 3/4 with 3.55 gears
cal tracs

I will be running street tires and open and closed exhaust, just curious what you think it will run this weekend and what you think it would run if I had slicks, certainly there are a lot of variables in racing just looking for a ball park opinion and see how close I come. thanks

11.91 @ 118 MPH with a 1.89 60 ft with closed exhaust
11.85 @ 120 MPH with a 1.87 60 ft with open exhaust
11.35 @ 121 MPH with a 1.61 60 ft with open exhaust and slicks

Have fun and let us know your results.

didn't he say "ballpark figures" in there some where...=P~

"11.35 @ 121 MPH with a 1.61 60 ft with open exhaust and slicks"

This is slow for the combo....S/B into the 10s....what is the car's weight?

My drag radials 60' = 1.57

the street tires will kill your 60 ft times...hence it will not et as well as it should but the MPH should be pretty good....

how will it runs depends on how well it is tuned and ready to go...

is the timing correct...is the jetting correct...

the car has the potential to run probably low elevens with the 3.55 gears ...

ET is all about hook.

Tuned correctly, I'll guess it runs 118-120 if it doesn't spin leaving the line, easing out. If it spins, MPH will go up slightly.

Those 3.55's will hold it back get some 3.91's or 4.10's..and drag radials..just for comparison my '70 duster with a 416 similar cam, converter and slightly touched Edelbrocks ran 11.0's@121 throught a full exhaust in a "street" car you should run the same..oh and if it hooks 60's in the low 1.40's..

I have a friend with a pickup very simler engine combo, with 4.30 on ET streets runs 11.50's through the mufflers at 5,000alt ( drives it to the track 35 miles each way) and another that has an a body same combo runs 12.50's with a brake and no exhaust.(trailers it) Built by different builders very comparible builds, its all about the tune Engine and chassis.

flyfish.... those are good #'s in Denver

Well I guess the general consensus is mid 11's, I was figuring with the street tires and 3.55's I might be able to hit 12.0 /12.2. The timing is at 30 degrees advance @ 3000 rpm and I'm pretty sure I've got the carb right thanks to some good advice from this site. So I 'm gonna go get a base line to end the season and then maybe if things go well I will get some 3.91's and some real slicks and make the 11's. I'll post some times when I get back (unless I embarrass myself)lol thanks for the replys

I think if they are real street tires your not going to hook at all 12.50 - witrh M/t drag radials Your probably high 10`s

If it sticks and you get a good light I would guess in the low-mid 11s, i think it needs 3.91 too for 10s?

But hey I hope it is faster than we guess for you, let us know . good racing be safe:)

and what if he does not get a good light?

as the reaction time has nothing to do with his ET...........

Street tires and open exhaust..high 11,s.Get some slicks and advance your timing to 34-36 and run high 10,2 low 11,s.

12.20 closed exhaust. MPH (118 TO 122 )
11.95 open exhaust.
slicks ?
11.20 to start.
tuned in 10.80.
Is there a prize give away for the winner? lol GOOD LUCK.:-D

Petty blue I've run the car with more timing and yet it seems to be less powerful as I go up it runs perfect @ 30 however im taking a time light with me. This is not my first time racing but is the first time racing this car (with this set up) I'm no expert but I think Ive always been able to cut a decent light, T67 no prize other than you can see into the future! I'm amazed you guys think it has potential to go 10's at some point! If it goes 11.99 i'm gonna be thrilled cause my goal was to be able to say I have an 11 sec pump gas street car I can drive anywhere. Thanks again guys for the replys very interesting opinions I'll let you know what happens.

you better bring a sun dial to time that car down track! or you can use a calender also! jk its never going to beat a orange super bee tho!

The sig picture was shot @ Bandimere, but the car was a little slower then (11.12 @ 122)...that was a 360 on a 180 shot of nitrous :-D. Now I run a 410 stroker NA down in Indiana...and it's about 2 tenths quicker :toothy10:.

Last years engine = Stock slant 6 with 29psi of boost. Launch with 3-4psi of boost and a 2.76 gear.

Video= [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMwcDlJGss0"]YouTube - Turbocharged Slant 6 runs 11.77 @ 116mph[/ame]

Thats awsome I love the stock hub caps and whitewalls!!! Well today didnt go as well as I would've liked, the best I could muster was a 13.1 @ 102 mph the 60' was shot @ 2.05! So let me tell you what happened, last year before I changed the intake and ported the heads this car went 12.33 @108 with a crap set of slicks and breaking up @5700. After a ton of screwing around with changing dist, plugs, wires, and the box, then screwing around with the carb I thought the issue was fixed. well the issue has returned ten fold and after some digging into it, my consensus as well as some others at the track that my carb has a serious issue. plus the track we went to today was not treated very well and everyone with street tires/drag radials was having traction issues. So I'm not making excuses I feel I got some good info from running it today and Im gonna try a different carb and see if the breaking up goes away and once I get it running properly I'm gonna buy real slicks. I know this thing has got potential to be fast I just need to spend the time to get it really dialed in.I'm looking forward to getting it into the 11's!
