I had a good friend of mine call me last night asking about a car he was looking at. He wanted to know what it was worth in it's current state, and what it's worth restored. Here's the details I have on the car from what I can remember. He was decoding the fender tag as I was on the phone with him last night.
1970 340 Dart-Canadian built-Factory Plum Crazy car
318 engine currently installed, comes with a 340 but he didn't have a chance to look at it and see if it was the original engine.
Twin scoop hood with the performance hood treatment (is that the organasol or does that refer to the scoops?)
Black vinyl top with black tail stripe.
Black interior with ralley dash, bucket seats, and a console shifted automatic.
Someone has stolen the 8 3/4 already and he didn't check for the disc brakes so I'm not sure there.
Body is super solid. The guys is a body man by trade so he's got a pretty good idea of what to look at and what's needed. Said it needs lower quarter patches on both sides and that's it for metal replacement. Floors, frame, trunk, rockers, and doors look super solid.
That's what I remember on it. The owner started restoring the car and lost interest. It is in bare metal right now with some surface rust on it but nothing's hiding under primer or fresh paint. I'm just trying to get an idea of what something like this should be priced at. Thanks FABO.
