Did mopar ever put a torque convertor like the 727 Road Runner in a 904 equipped car ?? I really like the 1800 stall convertors for 727 equipped street cars . But I have a built 904 sitting in my shop and would like to use that for the 68 Barracuda that I am buiilding for my kids .
I think the 3800 stall I have is a little overkill for a mild 360....

I don't believe there was a factory hi stall, the closest thing might be a 318 or /6 truck convertor. I've also used the Mancini Racing house brand concertors with good results for cheap.

what was different about the 318 & /6 TQ's ??

I am sure that I will have to go aftermarket . But it is fun to know the trivia about stock parts and pieces...........

Yeah. there were factory high stalls for both 727s and 904s. The regular stall speeds are around 1200-1700. The high stalls are usually about 1K above that.

the truck ones are 10.5" diameter instead of 11.5" and usually have a little more stall in a passenger car.

I have been told that a /6 904 converter will bolt in on a v8 904 and that the stall speed is 1800-2000

this is right up my alley lol i have use them for years .( about 40 years) i used 170 /6 there ok 225/6 trk convertors there better but getting hard to fine in the reman warehouses use to get them for 35 to 40 dollars a bit more now ............. i use to an still do have a few on the shelf .. they last a few years but i break transmissions from time to time.. about 1800 from a /6 truck converter is the best i had .. mild hdy cam they really do work well for the price. note back 1/2 of /6 front half v 8 for 904s lower first gear from /6 an more clutches from the v8 ....about 100 lbs lighter than 727 ... hope it helps
