Just looking to see what wheel and tire combos you guys are running. Planning on running 15 inch steelies

A few questions, How wide is the steel wheel? What off set? Front or rear or both? Stock hight or lowered? Higher than stock ride hight?
My 63 Valiant I am running steelies from a 84 Dodge Diplomat that are 15x7 with a 4 1/4 backspace. On the rear 205-65-15 and can can go larger(235 60 15 no problem). On the front 185-65-15.I am running the 73-76 a body factory disc brakes with 2'' drop spindles.
The wheel openings are smaller on the 63 fronts and had some rubbing in turns.Your 66 should clear a larger tire. Hope this helps.

One member put on 315's on a early A-body Dart. Not sure if it was a mini tub or just relocating the springs/shock setup. There is a thread on it somewhere. It looks awesome! Makes me want to get'em on my '66 Barracuda.....hmmmm

i will be running 15's from a chrysler300, i will check the back space, but this is good news. will be stock ride height.

i like the mini tub because its keeps a stock type look.

Thinking that this may be a driver and not a big bucks build,,I ran the Chrysler road wheels with BFG's 205-60-15 front and 215-60-15 rear on a 67 Dart with plenty of room. If you don't go overboard with tire size you should have no-problem with your 66. Just a thought,, The early A's like to rub the outer wheel house on the backs with wide tires with four people in the car but how often do we carry over 800 lbs in out cars. Photos when you get them on !!!!!!! We love photos.

I found a pair of reasonably priced 29.5/9x15 M/H slicks on CL yesterday and thought that they might fit on my 66 D/Dart that has S/S spings on it. So I did some checking. I don't think they will fit.

I tried a set of 275/60x15 Comp T/A Drag Radials mounted on Cragar SS (#61815 SS-6 STD) rims. This rim has a 4 1/4 " backspace. The rims fit good but the tire either rubs or is very close to the clamps on the springs. The driver side is the tightest fit. Even with rolled wheel lips, you can't get your finger between the tire and the rolled lip. This tire has a cross section of about 11.2 inches.

My thinking is, you'd need a tire with a max cross section of 10.0 inches and a dia of 28 inches. This should clear the front edge of the wheel opening and the wheel lip. I'd use a 15x8 rim with 4 1/4 backspace. This is the direction that I plan on taking.

Just my 2 cents...............

here is a pic... i don't have any full shots right now. once i get moving with the build i will start a thread for it.
