Wheel studs loose in hubs-Weld??or

Went to mount my new cragers on 67 cuda(5 on 4) and found loose studs in front hubs and 1 or 2 in rear axles.My studs are the 7/16 *20 rh about 1 1/2 in long. The # on studs is D 096.Car has 10 in drums.Seems like the shoulder size is .550 but do not fit tight in hub .Hub hole size seems to be about .554 -556 between groves. Loal supplier showed me new studs for 10 in drums and they are same # D 096.Anyone know of another stud with a slightly larger shoulder or should i just do 2 spot welds on back of stud to hub on all studs as tire shop suggested or ????. Want to get my tires on but don't want studs spinning when i tighten or try to loosen - bad for my BP!!!!

Found 2 sets on Summitt that should work for you. But they are longer than stock. They have a knurl of .560. Part #41160 and 86060.
