Wheel swap

Hi there has anyone put the 2009 chrome 8 bolt Dodge 3/4 ton 17 inch rims on to a 2006 gmc 3/4 ton that has 16 inch rims. If so do they fit good. I’m not sure if the 8 inch rim would interfere with the top ball joint. Thanks. Kim

Conventional wisdom would say that a larger rim should clear (especially when going from aluminum to steel)

Is the Dodge rim wider too?

17X8 dodge. 6.5 gmc

Then the next thing to consider is backspacing

If that is the same you should be golden (and the added 1.5 inches poking out will look awesome)

From what I remember more backspace on the dodge rims. I’m thinking they will be in an inch or so.

It’s a no go. Dodge 6+ backspace. GMC 3.5 back space. I only have about an inch between the rear wheel and the spring. Kim
