Wheels and Tires Question

It's time for new tires on my 66 Valiant Signet driver. Thinking I should move forward with new wheels as well. Like to get away from 13". With so many choices this old man gets confused.

Question: Can someone tell me what kind and size will fit and bolt right on?

7" wide with a 4 to 4 1/2 backspace usually work fine. A 255-60 tire is the limit and won't work on some cars. @memike, what are you running on yours?

I sure like the looks of 15" wheels on these early A's. The Rallys are 14's.

Shipping used or new wheels can get expensive. Something to remember when purchasing. A swap meet is your best choice unless someone near you has a set.

Any of the 14 x 4.5 or 14 x 5.5 plain steel wheels or rally wheels with small bolt pattern (5 by 4") will bolt on without clearance problems. There are no factory 15" wheels with small bolt pattern. Aftermarket suppliers like Stockton Wheel can make steel wheels or rally wheels in different diameters and widths for small bolt pattern, but then you have to specify the back spacing you want.
