Exactly like the title states, we have a 65 dart, all original, slant six, drums front and rear with power.

The booster is certainly bad as it causes a change in idle speed and definitely draws vacuum anytime you touch the pedal.

The car came with a spare power booster in the trunk, but we don't know of course if it works, and to my surprise, I can't seem to find one available to purchase new (or rebuilt).

So what are our options? We are keeping the car all original, so no disc brake kits at this time.

I've read about upgrading to a dual master cylinder from 67-up cars... Is it possible to use a power booster from a later model? Are there any other options that will work reasonably easy from a different car? Or are we stuck with having to have this booster rebuilt?

I'd love to hear your input

You can go to a later model booster to replace your current booster AND vacuum storage tank, Which is your squarish box on top of the driver's inner fender connected to the booster with a hose. I am using this booster in my 65 Dart wagon. I had it rebuilt by "Booster Dewey"

. My wagon had the same factory booster/storage tank as you do.
