Where does this bracket belong?

Hey guys, I’m trying my hand at racing for the first time and after a couple runs this bracket dropped down at my feet. For the life of me I can’t find where it belongs, I checked with a couple other 4-speed about guys at the track and think it’s part of the pedal assembly but where? Appreciate any help, thanks guys.

If I worked at an assy plant, I would gather all kinds of small parts unrelated to the car being made, and leave them in hidden plases in a car.

Look on either side of the pivot rod aor the pedals, think it holds it in.
