I am looking for a transmission manufacturer who rebuilds 727 trans. I just had one rebuilt by a local shop. They did a really bad job. They are willing to refund my money so I am looking for a reliable and not bank roll breaking trans. I have heard some good and bad things about tci. What are your thoughts? Itt will be going into my Dart sport. It has about 350hp and I am looking for a stock type trans and conv. Nothing to beefy.

Thanks for the advise. I called TCI and for the street fighter version, convertor , fluid and shipping is 1600.00
 
i would really consider Cope good name ,great rep.
My father inlaw is a TCI dealer and can get me the same combo you posted for about 1,000 and I still will not touch it. He swears by them for chevy's but I've heard to much bad about their mopar lineup.
Another couple hundred will get you a Cope, + he offers 1 free freshen up.
 
Cope is alot cheaper than TCI and does a much better job. You can get a Cope trans. that'll do the job for you for less than $1k. TCI has a bad rep on most any Mopar board you'll get on. That's why most Mopar guys say TCI stands for Turns to Crap Instantly.

Another super good guy on torqueflites is a supporter of this forum and I highly recommend him. Chris Andrews @ Andrews Racing. I guarantee you won't get any junk from him.
 
That's who I would use, John is a very knowledgeable and all around good guy.

I bought his CRT 727-904 Race Reverse Manual Valve Body and some other stuff very top quality
 
Another thumbs up for Cope - CRT. I would dream of a TCI rebuild. Looks like a spray paint rebuild to me with a crummy chrome leaking pan. I've had 2 customers with them and I'm not impressed.
 
Another in the minus column for TCI.
A buddy put one in his Dart last year.
He had to remove it and repair something internally before it would work properly.
 
Diamondback racing can custom build you one with griner a d Ptc converter don't use total. Crap Inc.
