I recently installed a 2 step box for the Tbrake on my Dart .I tried it last Saturday at the track and the Dart hated it.Every time i would launch it would bog ,then clear up and go.I tried pills from 3200 -4000 and everytime it was the same thing.I ended up putting a 7000 pill in it so it wouldnt hit and the bog was gone and it ran better 60 foots instantly ,duh go figure. It seemed to me that it was loading up with gas while it was on the rev limiter ,but im not sure. Please bare with me as i am new to Automatics in Drag cars ,as i have always ran 4 spds in the past.I would like to use the 2 step for the convenience of it ,but dont know what i should do to fix the problem .Here is a vid to look at of my first run ,so you can see and hear what im talking about .Thanks for your imput ...

you might want to check your float hights....maybe need jet extentions in the rear bowl..try putting a rubber hose between the vent tubes on the carb and cut a hole at the topl...

what carb are you using? I am assuming you are using a Holley with my comments above.

Im sorry ,its a 750 Demon with mechanical secondaries .It pulls great with no bog foot braking or using the Tbrake manually .What i mean by "manually" is i mash the button bring it up to about 3800 and then drop the button and floor it at the same time.If i put a 3800 pill in the 2 Step ,mash it to the floor and let it bang on the rev limter ,with it doing the work ,it will jump when i drop the button and then bog then clear up every time ...

Are you running jet extensions? What kind of 60' time do you get?

Do you have a power valve or a plug in the secondary?

Heres the run down on my Dart. Its a 10 to 1 stroker 408 with Econo W2 heads.Mild 484/510 and 235 duration @ 50 cam .Im running a 750 Demon with a Victor intake and Hedman fenderwell headers .I have an Msd dist ,6Al and Blaster coil on it with Taylor wires.I put in a fresh set of Autolite AR plugs before this meet .I shift at 5800 and go through the lights at about 6100 with the 4.86 gears in the 1/8 at about 93 mph .I am running a Powerglide trans with about a 3500 convertor and the stock 1.76 low gear with a Transbrake.Im running slapper bars and stock springs and 26 x 8.5 x 15 M/T slicks .I run 4.10 gears in it for the 1/4 ,but i was running the 4.86 gears in it at this race since it was an 1/8 mile track ,and i dont have to spur it near as hard to make it 60 foot well with the 4.86 gears.Et's in the 1/8 are usually 7.28 - 7.30 ,with my 60 foots usually in the 1.57 -1.58 range. My best pass of the day was a 7.262 with a 1.54 60 foot with me manually launching on the Tbrake at 3800 and sticking the throttle as i drop the button with no bog what so ever without the 2 step ...

with a 2 step you need to set your rpm at what you want it go to but you need to hit your button and floor it to the floor and let the brake go.On the rear bowl make sure you have jet extensions.
