I bought the Mr. Gasket 928G spring set for General Motors because I couldn't find any other distributor springs nearby.

Can I use these in my MP distributor? If not, where can I buy some heavier springs for it? (I seem to be having trouble finding Mopar-specific springs.) My MP distributor came with really wimpy spings that are giving me all my centrifugal advance at quite a low RPM, and my engine hates that.

I've heard of people using them but I have not. Wait for Halifaxhops to respond he will steer you down the right path.

Yes those MP springs go full in fast. I have plenty PM me with what you ar looking for, or how you want it to act.

Chrysler # 2932675 or MP # P2932675. This is the light spring kit numbers for the factory point or electronic distributors. Not the Mallory MP distributors. I do have a lot of the factory springs for these distributors. Kim

Use the FBO stuff. He offers quality stuff made right here in the US. Mopar specific.

GM are looped down Mopar are centered.

That doesn’t fit the advance mechanism the OP has. I can get the part number for the correct one, but they are like hens teeth. There ain’t none out there.
I agree. I once and a while find them but not to often. Now the MP style light springs are easy to find. Think RRR nailed it with FBO springs.

Then he may have enough adjustability depending on how they are adjusted now. That is if he has enough patience to play with it. Kim

He is pinging badly. Prob a combo of those MP springs that let it all in around 1200 and the mechanical setting. Just have to get the setting right. Most MP stock go in really fast.

I think he has a Mallory style told him to call me.

If that’s the style of advance mechanism the OP has then the Summit part number above is for THAT advance mechanism. That Summit part number will not fit the earlier advance mechanism.

I can’t remember Mallory’s nomenclature for the different advance mech’s and I can’t find my book.
