Yea....but it's gotta be the super-strength...
Sorry...can't even joke about it. That sucks. What is the general concensious...Can it be welded and sleeved?
Mac
i was going to freshen it up to sell.
looks like a total overhaul and a sleeve.
everything else looks good.
i think the cylinder filled with water and froze.
maybe the water injection caused detonation in that cylinder? :smilebox:
i'll fix it so it can :burnout: another day.
That looks like a freeze crack alright..Best turn it over and, make sure any others are ok..especially the one adjacent to it. If it's only the one, sleeve it..But those rust pits dont look real good either..
Heck yeah JB weld will fix anything. I used to work for a guy that ran a hole in the wall forklift repair shop that actually used JB weld to seal a crack on a main lift cylinder on a forklift he was selling right before he was closing the doors. (Hope nobody got killed around that thing.)
Yeah, you have to use a bunch and while it is still wet, you have to push the piston down through it to get ride of the xtra JB weld. That is the red neck way of doing the machine work portion of the job!
