I don't see why it wouldn't. I use to work on forklifts and back when they still had points we were converting them over to the Pertronix ignitor and my old hand held analog tach worked fine on them. As far as I know the only thing you might have a problem using a tach with is trying to read off a car with a multiple spark box. That makes the tach go wacky. Most multiple spark boxes have seperate tach outputs though.
