windshield sealing rope

I had my windshield and back glass installed. the tech told me I needed the rope that goes around it. He told me it was a black rubber sealing rope. called Chrysler and they are not holding on to this anymore. where do you guys get this. is it a 3/8" or what size. He told me Chrysler is the only one that uses this rope but I saw where GM uses it also. Does anyone know what they are talking about anymore. It is getting frustrating. So, I figured someone here has had this done before so guys, gimme the answers I need to know. It seems like when I need to know something, here is where the answer is found. Thanks

if it's the sort I'm thinking of, that goes into a channel in the moulding to force the seal, most glass shops should have it (we do).

Well,I found what I needed at Route 66 Cruisers. This was the rope that goes in the windshield weatherstrip. It was $13.59 a roll.I found the butyl caulk at Home Depot so I can seal the windshield.
