Desperately in need of a ww switch for a 64 Valiant /Barracuda! Has the center plunger pin type switch for the washer motor and a circuit breaker on the armature off of the side. Willing to pay nicely for this switch, need it to get on the road! Thanks.b.

hey there, can you send me a photo and i'll see if i have one. i have something that resembles your discription. don't know where i got it from ofr i should say which car i got it from.
don

Sorry it took so long,I have so many lines in the water I don't know which bobber to watch! I will post a picture here as soon as i can. Should be in the next day or so. Thanks for the help. b.

Have you had the switch apart ? Want me to try and fix it ? No promises that I can but willing to have a look. Good luck

Hi Red. Yeah i took the switch apart, tried to make sure all of the contacts were tight and the springs were working correctly but to no avail. I'd be glad to send you this one to tinker on as soon as I have a suitable replacement. This one is still functioning as a junction for several other things and I don't want to jinx myself. I certainly appreciate the offer and will most likely take you up on it. Thanks.b.

"Junction for several other things" has me confused. What in the world did they do in there ? I'm aware of washer pump power through some switches. Let me ask this... exactly what are conditions ? What does the switch do or not do conserning the wipers ? And what other circuits open or fail when the wiper switch is unpluged ?

OOOkay, here's the deal. First off there's a 5 amp(or so I'm told) circuit breaker on here, the turn signal flasher routes thru here, the reverse lightsthe directionals to the front and the light switch and,Oh yeah, the windshield washer motor! Right now,the main thing is that if I plug it in,it will not stop running.Everything else is working fine so I don't want to jinx the car by plugging the switch back in. Any ideas?

You might have to pull the motor assembly. It sounds like the park setting switch is out. It can be rebuilt by a alternator/starter shop typically.

Just remembered something... the switch needs its chassis ground for the park circuit to work. Makes me wonder is the switch testing done in the panel or in your hand.
I find it very difficult to believe all those other circuits are routed through the wiper switch. Not saying your wrong but I've never seen electrical in older vehicles that complex.

I have the wiper switch that you are looking for. Please send me a address to send this switch to you. I have a good used switch.

You can have it for FREE.

Hey hemi, sent you a pm with address, thanks for the help. Red,I know it sounds bizarre but this is the way I found it and the wiring diagram confirms this madness. The only reason I can come up with was that it was convenient for the builders and saved some dash space? I've been finding that this particular car seems to be sort of a potluck of parts, maybe they were just getting rid of leftover parts. I dunno.

Iv'e got a wiring diagram for a 64 also colored if you want I can email it to you if you pm your direct email.
