Planning a painting marathon over Thanksgiving weekend. Trying to get the Hood, trunk, front fenders and front fascia all into color by Sunday night. Sending the bride off to the grandkids so I won't be disturbed. Started prepping the front fenders this weekend. The inside was undercoated so I spent the last two days with a heat gun and scraper removing that crap. I got it off though and now I will finish prepping the inside of the fenders for a coat of epoxy primer and then color. The outside finish work will be another step. Bone-*** tired now though.
Cheers, Rat

Hey Tony!
I will be posting step by step to my build thread. Not much to see scraping undercoat. Will post the rest of it tho---------------

Oh man...prep SUCKS...!!!

pictures are good...any pictures...:D

It must be that time of year,as I just finnished pulling parts of my 66 Dart again getting ready for paint.I really enjoy doing the work, but pay for it the next day.Good luck with not getting interupted while getting your work done.Looking forward to your progress.

I do too,Pettyblue.I am only 44,but I have done prep since I was 17.

I got all the undercoat removed from the inside of the fenders. (NOT EASY) I am using by air tool with rollock pads and my wire brush to get the insides ready for the epoxy primer coat. I finished one tonight and will finish the other one tomorrow. The system I am using, as soon as I shoot the epoxy primer and it flashes off, I will hit it with a heavy coat of color. Then I will use sandable primer and block out the outside and shoot all the finish color on all the panels on Saturday after Thanksgiving. That will give me Sunday to clean the shop and put everything away. I will be posting photos of the entire procedure. Working about 1/2 time at my real job so I can get this stuff done! Cheers.
