Wiper motor won’t shut off?

Maybe the park switch inside the motor. Never done one myself. A FSM is your friend here.
 
Ground problem. Can also be at the motor. That's where it gets the ground to go in parking mode.
 
Problem is located in the parking switch. Located in circle in pic. When you switch wiper to OFF, power is transferred to the blue wire soldered to this switch. Motor keeps running until plastic cam inside this switch is pushed by raised part of motors pinion gear. This pushes on the plastic cam to open the parking switch. At this point, the motor shuts off hopefully in the parked position. Pic shown is a 67 Vspeed, however they are all similar in design and operation.

Ok, what do I need to do to fix that? Or do I need a new motor? Thanks for all the reply’s everyone
 
Mark clocking position of the cover to wiper motor body to put back in the same spot. Take cover off and see whats broken inside. You can find the wiper parking switch new on evilbay all the time, or you can buy a refurbished/restored 3 speed motor typically for several hundred dollars, or you can take the time to figure out and refurb/repair yours. Irestored mine in the pic myself. Was still into it for over $150 in part because i wanted to re cad plate the motor cylinder. The clocking position on the motor determines when the switch opens and kills power to the motor to park the wiper arms.
 
Ok, got the motor off and checked inside.... nothing broke or missing. But when I hook the battery up the first setting of the switch sounds like it’s on the slowest setting the second and third sound the same , like it’s on the highest speed. I changed wiper switches and it acted the same, the off position and the first setting sounded like the low setting, the 2nd and 3rd setting sounded the same[ like high speed]. I ran a ground wire from the ground strap to the battery ground and nothing changed. I Really hate to buy a new [ refurbished] motor and it does the same thing.
 
Maybe a dumb question but did you verify the switch is cutting power to the motor and activating the park mode?

The switch doesn't cut power to park, the internal switch in the motor opens cutting power to the motor however the terminal that the blue wire is hooked up to still has power until the key is turned off. There are 2 terminals on the backside of the switch plate one is small and the other is long and is like a spring and has tension holding down on the smaller terminal, If it somehow it got on the other side it may not open leaving power on. There is a diagram showing how to set this switch up, clock the gear and switch plate. If you need help or the diagram contact me [email protected]

So nothing in the switch activates the park mode?
 
It switches it to another terminal and stays hot until the key is turned off

That other hot terminal is wired to the park switch i circled in reply #7. Motor continues to run off that wire until the contact in the park switch opens, then motor stops.
 
I made a mistake when I said nothing broken or missing in that earlier post, I opened it up and seen I’m missing the plastic piece that fits on top of the latch assembly, the one that activates the park switch. Is there somewhere you can buy these ? Or is this a part I need from a used motor?
 
I would snag up a parts motor to keep for spare pieces and bits. I have a spare prestolite or 2 for my restored one and 2 spare 2 speed motors for my sons car.
