They are called Packard 56 connectors. I just use a small pair of needle nose pliers on the male ones and a small flat screw driver on the female ones.

My smallest screwdriver was still a bit too fat so I flattened the end of a piece of coathanger and tweaked it with a file.

You can buy special crimpers for them but I use high quality (Greenlee, Klein or T&B) electrical crimpers and make sure you fold the tabs right. You'll know what I mean when you do it. They can always be soldered after crimping but I never bothered.Any recommendations on crimping tools for these??? Thanks
