Dug out the manual with the wiring diagrams in it for our model year and realized I had to relearn everything again because all my papers had disappeared over the winter...

I took the old instrument panel out and have made a new one with all the gauges necessary right in front of the driver.

For the new gauges, the install instructions are pretty good but I wondered what wires I needed to tap into for the blinkers, high beam indicator, and the dash lights.

In the exhibit below, I lay out the fuse box and the printed circuit board wires / descriptions so you can see what wires to tap into. The colour code is in the book.

I also had downloaded the schematics from mymopar.com and found some differences so I stayed with the MOPAR manual.

Questions

My back hurts too much to go look at our car but in the fuse box, nothing is feeding #3 and my car does have a rear defogger...so should there be a wire ?

I am looking for a switchable power supply..is there one under the dash ? I need it for the tach and radio.

The easiest dome light location to tap into is in the left rear wheel housing. I cannot tell for either source if the wire I am looking for is pink or yellow. Anyone know which will work ?

I understand that the best place to tap into for your volt meter is the blue switched 12 volt from the ignition switch. Would that be the solid colour or the one with the tracer...ie, what side ? Wouldn't the better place be at the alternator output ?

Thanks
Ian.
