A guy I know called me earlier today and wanted to know if I wanted a 71 Duster that is virtually rust free and is missing the engine and trans. After asking him several questions, I found out it is actually a 318 Twister and it has the Shark's Tooth grille with it.

He's offered it to me for a little less than $1500 - does that seem like a decent price or is it too high?

I should have pictures of it either later today or sometime tomorrow.

if the body is rust free then that is a good deal, if the sharkstooth grill is good then that makes it even better

Probably worth it. I guess it depends mostly on what "virtually rust free" means. I've seen cars that were "rust free" that needed several thousand dollars worth of rust repair.

It's definitely worth checking out. If the grille is in good shape, and if you'ree lucky enough to see an 8.75 axle under it, it's probably worth it.

Sadly, it does not have an 8-3/4 but I happen to have a 66 b-body housing and axles in my shop. Plus I have a 360 and trans laying around.

As far as rust issues go, it's a north tx car so it should be pretty darn good.

Sounds interesting and you have the parts to get er up and running.I would buy it for that price before it,s gone.

PLEASE..Do Not Think, Just buy!!! If it were me I couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough!!!Please send pic's once you have it safe at home!! Craig.

I would be waiting in his driveway wearing out the bills as I counted them over and over!! HA HA! I'm glad your jumping on it.. Don't forget the Pic's!! ``

Okay - turns out it is NOT a Twister. No sharkstooth grille and body is worse than described. Needs both lower quarters patched and the passenger side qtr has a HUGE dent in it. Other than that it is very solid. Looks like they had started to rebuild the front end as it has all new bushings. It is a disc brake a/c 318 car. Of course it's green, GF7 with a green bench seat interior. Price dropped substantially - I can now get it for about $750. Of course, since i plan on moving soon not sure if it is worth it or not...

1967 is a nice year for Darts , however be prepared for some 1967-only items :

- window trim is rubber with that shitty plastic "chrome" ;

- "K" member is different ( but is still usable ) ;

- final year for the v.i.n. to be placed in the lower "A" pillar in the door jam ( may cause problems at your local DMV ) .

I read the ad ; car seems to appear worse than it may be . I didn't see what motor / trans it had (has?) in it ... It'd be a GREAT deal if it's an original 383 GT+S !
