Won my first “heads up” race last night....

.....Well.....I did...but…here’s the scoop. I went to the racetrack last night for testing some new pump cams on the carb and got sucked into an actual race (for a prize). Six of the fastest “street cars” that qualified were selected to run heads up at the end of the night for a pack of tickets an upcoming race. My car was one of the six. Luckily for me only one other car showed up at the end of the night, a supercharged newer GTO that made a claimed 670hp. My car only makes ~520hp, but those GTO’s are HEAVY (like 4000#’s). I ran a new personal best with a 10.89 @ 121.49 and took out the GTO in the process (he went 11.26 @ 122.74). Woo Hoo!!:toothy10:

Wining is a lot easier when the first round IS the final round:-D:cheers::-D.

I have yet to meet one of the latest generation GTO owners that doesn't have SDS attitude. Glad to hear you put him on the trailer.

I normally run Pro Et on the weekends, but this was my first “heads up race” win…if you could call it that. Now if I can just cut through the field of my regular bracket class and put up a W…..maybe only 1 other car will show up this weekend…LOL!
 
Awesome. I know you're stoked. I used to race heade up when I was still in high school.....too many years ago and I got HOOKED. Great lookin car you got, too.
