this very well could be me talking out my tailpipe but has anyone heard of taking a suspension out of a 87 merc and thowing it into a 71 dart, i know there would be a fair ammount of work involved, the thing is i would like to get the newer disc assembly, i have a 74 valiant that i could use the disc assembly but if the merc is a way better setup???

The discs off the 74 Valiant would be the way to go.

Using the ford stuff would be overly complicated, cost more (fabrication) and would have little if any pay off for the work involved.
