I was talking to my buddy that brought the Airwolf heads over and he said almost every intake is out of stock but summit was showing more than 10 small block Mopar super Victor intakes. I told him he better jump on it because I know lots of guys were looking for one earlier this year. So he hung up and ordered it. He should have it tomorrow or Thursday. Just a heads up to those looking.

I recently ordered a #2815 (small block Mopar) Super Victor from Summit. Strangely, what I received appears to be the fully machined casting for the #28155 EFI version except the runner bosses for the injectors are not drilled. It was in a #2815 box with #2815 instructions. So far I am keeping it as I believe it is functionally identical to the #2815. An oddity if you will... I did call Summit who believes Edelbrock did this to get parts out the door using the single casting for both. He could not confirm though and Summit was supposed to open some boxes and call me back. I never heard back from Summit. I'd be curious what others receive. Here's what I got:

Wow I’ll have to see which one he gets. Do yourself a big favor and watch which valve coves you use, especially on the intake you got. I had oil leaks that took me awhile to find from the valve covers sitting on the raised intake runners. It looks like it could be even worse with the efi bosses. I now use valve cover spacers on most of these builds but they create another issue. They need clearances for pushrods. It never ends. Lol

Since Edelbrock was moving their foundry operations, supposedly, it only makes sense they'd consolidate tooling. Especially for slow moving skus...

Changing buildings is no easy feat for a large operation, and often it means starting certain systems back from scratch.

Oh hell! That would be alllll right with me!

Edelbrock did not move their foundry operation or their R & D. The only thing they moved was the warehousing and distribution to Olive Branch, Mississippi.

I must have carved half the rail off the fabricated aluminum ones I'm running my EFI SV. It takes a metric **** ton of clearance on the injector bosses, plus the pushrod clearance. Grind, grind, grind some more. Pick aluminum daggers out of my socks, grind some more.

My understanding is that all the machining to the castings(heads and manifolds) used to be done at the headquarters building in Torrence, Ca.
That building was sold......... and the machining operations for the heads was moved into the foundry location in El Jacinto, Ca.
The manifolds are now being machined in Olive Branch, Ms, along with all the warehousing and distribution.

If so I can’t understand why any company, especially a performance company would want to do business in California. The pollution created by a foundry rates up there pretty high.

I am trying to buy an Air Gap from this fella.
He also has this Super Victor that I have no interest in. I can ask him if he still has it if I’m able to meet up this week or after Christmas Day if any of you want to contact him about it. I could help with logistics if it pans out for you.

Well I gave my buddy the heads up about getting an EFI intake instead of the one he ordered. He got it today and as said above the box is marked with the right part number but the one he got has the EFI boxes too. He’s going to make some phone calls to see what’s going on. I’ll try to update

I’d put money on that they discontinued the non-EFI version. Doesn’t make sense to make two different base castings that would do the same thing. it’s just a little extra aluminum if you’re not using Efi

The red Super Victor above appears to have EFI bosses as well. If Edelbrock is indeed combining both parts, then they should have updated photos on their website (before I bought) and should have eliminated the "EFI" logo on #1 runner that I see on mine. I don't really mind undrilled EFI bosses (despite valve cover clearance issue) but don't really like the "EFI" logo on what is to be a carburetor setup. Rant over. It is a killer looking intake.

Did you get ahold of Summit to see if the 2815 is in stock? Shows they have 9 in stock but the 28155 also shows 9 in stock.

I forgot to tell you guys but last week he contacted summit about the intake and they sent him out another EFI intake. Now he has two charged to his credit card.

finally got mine a couple weeks ago. It came the same as you described. It has EFI raised on the intake.

I just got off the phone with the sales department. Was on hold for like 20 minutes. I explained everything about this issue between 2815 and 28155.
The guy was trying to reach somebody in the warehouse to look in the boxes. He couldn't reach anyone though.

No, Summit never called me back...

Ok we can probably put this horse to rest. My buddy took his two super Victor intakes to summit today and showed them what is going on. They grabbed three more intakes and upon opening them up found three more instilled EFI intakes. So he told them other guys will probably be calling about this issue (I told him about you guys) so they know what is going on. Then my buddy got his credit card charges for the two intakes changed to just one and headed home with the one branded EFI. It appears Edelbrock will now be making one intake instead of two.

We just got a new Edelbrock RPM for my nephews 440 and it had the made in USA raised emblem on it. I was a bit disapointed that the Super Victor didn't.

If any of you are really unhappy with your new super victor/efi manifold. I'd love to trade my new victor 340 intake for one if one of you is interested.

Weird that they left the EFI lettering on that casting if it will be for both versions now, but they probably just did not think anyone would care.

I wonder if that will end up getting removed later on if the complaints continue. I personally don’t have an issue with that lettering, but damn that price went way up.

Several years ago I bought a carb version Super Victor and I have plans to eventually drill it and weld in injector bungs.
