I had a X pipe installed on my dart yesterday. What I was After was to even out the sound. it changed the sound dramatically quieted it down at an idle and sounds mean when getting on it.

Sounded better before the X, but I'm of the old ways.
What are the details.

Great comparison Stan. It's a personal choice how you want your car to sound. I personally like the x pipe sound and was surprised how well it smoothed out the pulses. Have you noticed any performance difference between the two? Thanks for posting! tmm

It sounds smooth and balanced, you can really hear the air move. I bet it helps with drone. What mufflers?

That was so cool Stan  Good post for all of us to hear the difference :glasses7:
Scavenging the air out much easier :color::color: and like a member said (Drone) will be gone :glasses7:and I believe there will be some MPG saved here.
I like the new sound MUCH better

Don't know about performance, still can't drive because of double vision. My son in law was driving. He did say the drone was gone. Same mufflers I think they say flow tech on them.
They where on when we bought the dart.
It did what I was after, quieted it down and smoothed the sound out.

I think you will find more low end performance and less traction.....

Very interesting side by side. To be honest after hearing this I kind of wish I had gone with a side by side. I have a Hughs whiplash cam and after break in with open headers it sounded mean after the X pipe it sounds a lot tamer.l at idle. I know the darts X piped system gets more complements than the 69 Chargers side by side so guess more people like that smoother idle?

I really like the idle before the X personally, but you're going to get better performance with it. And if you're looking for a smoother sounding and quieter idle, it's the way to go. I also run an X pipe. If it weren't for the performance benefit, I'd do without it.
