if it makes you feel any better, there have been plenty of years winter started late october, here in michigan, but so far, ive been able to keep the duster as my daily driver
Yeah, yesterday it was a total kaos here in Stockholm. Lucky for me the commuter train only had a delay of 15 minutes. Spent the rest of the evening shovelling snow. Halfway done, the other half is waiting for me tonightI was stuck in traffic for 8 hours yesterday. During that time I had to stop a fill fledged fistfight, go pee on a three lane road with hundreds of stuck cars, and help pull loose an 18 wheeler who was stuck on flat ground. I have to say I love my 2000 Volvo V70. With brand new winter tires and the transmission on the "winter" setting I myself did not get stuck once.

Whats there to LOL about? In that setting, if your stuck, the tires wont spin. It will gently apply power. I'm from Sweden, I've been driving in snow for 22 years since I got my license. This is the first car I've owned as a daily driver with an automatic. Not once have I driven oof the road or got stuck by the way."Winter setting" LOL
We, (well some of us) just change how we drive when it snows, and the ones that don't end up in a ditch or the side of a house.
He he, the same thing where ever You are then."Winter setting" LOL

I know you are just probably trying to get me annoyed. I did fall for the bait at first. I really dont feel like getting into an argument on how great drivers we are or that when we grew up we had to clean the bottom of the lake before we got to go to bed (Monty Python). CheersWhen I was growing up we just learned to drive in all conditions, and cars didn't have things that interfered.
If you didn't want wheels to spin you didn't let it, or even used the brakes to equalize the drive power to the wheels.
(Rear wheels) as there were like zero front wheel drive cars around back then.
Driver assist and all that stuff belongs in video games.
