As you are probably aware, one of the Dodge Brothers car's claims to fame was that it had an all-steel body when other makes used wood in their bodies. The DB's all-steel body was designed by the Budd Co. Here's an index to a whole bunch of pictures from the Budd Co. when they were originally designing the DB car:

Hello Bill,
Thanks for the link.
Amazing the craftsmanship of that time period.
Keep in mind that Budd contributed a major part in shaping the american landscape.
Budd Company - Wikipedia
So true was the saying that "Made in the USA" represented an industrial revolution in america that will never be the same.
Gives new meaning to "Gone with the wind"
Happy Mopar :)

I was watching a show on Discovery or History channel?? titled the Cars America Built? Very interesting info regarding the Dodge Bros. especially. Very good presentation of how it all began and the personalities that shaped it all.

Yes that was a good show....Horace and John Dodge were machinists that worked for Henry Ford until they broke out on their own to make a better car in the late teens

John and Horace probably would have been happy to have continued to make parts for Ford, because they were making a lot of money and had a 10% stock ownership in the Ford corporation, except that they thought the Model T was too primitive, and they grew to dislike being associated with it. They wanted Ford to modernize his car by featuring a water pump, distributor-type ignition and an electric starter. When Ford kept refusing to entertain their ideas, the Dodge brothers decided they'd better make their own car.

According to that TV presentation the Dodge Bros. were damn sharp, and Henry Ford had big balls, but was a total asshole!
I have watched the 3 part series several time and learn something new each time! But by 6 pm today, I have forgot half what I learned yesterday!!

dodge bros did well working for old henry ford , there family held on to the stocks they earned for that venture .
