Can anyone shed a little light on this for me? I have heard that mods
are required to install these headers to the Z bar. I think TTI even sells
a replacement Z bar if I have heard correctly.

Anyone done this mod and or maybe even have pictures?

I have a little welder and know how to use it!

The z bar tti sells isn't for SB cars IIRC.

Move the arm towards the drivers frame rail. The lower leg swings in the pie shaped window of tubes and torsion bar. It may take a time or two to get it right.

I'm going to have to do this. I'm tired of fixing my Hooker headers all
the time (ie. un-flattening).
I guess I could make a weekend project out of it....

Does the coating on the headers hold up well or is it a waste of
money?

My TTI's required flattening around the area where the lower leg on the z bar swings. If I would have put more thought into it I think one could cut and weld the center tube of the Z bar , remove 1/4 inch then space the bracket from bell housing over and it would prolly clear.

I had to massage the Z-bar a little as it was close to one of the header tubes. Grinded a little off the bottom and put a subtle bend in the rod to clear the tube. Took several tries to get the bend just right. Didn't have to "ding" the header tubes at all.

Placement of the engine and condition of the motor mounts make all the difference.

360 w/the later spool type mount k frame.
