z-bar rebuild

hey all just joined the site and finding it very helpfull already.have a ?. i just did a z-bar rebuild and noticed on diagrams i have found there is suposse to be kind od a horseshoe shaped piece that wraps and the bar from the pedal end and a sprinf hooked to it from the frame for a pedal return i take it. nobody maked the piece so i made 1 myself. i put the bar back in and it is to close to the frame to even be used. my problem is pedal return. the clutch pedal wont come all the way up so it makes it hard to get a clutch adjustment. not sure why the pedal does this. it has been this way since i bought the car bout 5 yrs ago thanks in adavance demon71

I have the same problem but it's due to header clearance. I had to bend the torque bar off to the side to get additional clearance, Actually a friend did it for me. I am out of room to get any more travel. If I remove the Tourque bar / Z-bar I could probably add a slight twist to get more clearance. good luck with it.
