I think it needs to come apart to replace those studs. I'm sure they will spin if you try to drill them. check with @partsmonsta maybe?

Been a while. Aren't the surrounds (red arrow) studs like the broke one in my picture above and the grille (green arrow) screws the square heads?

Possibly there is an undercut like on this 742 pinion that may be hanging it up..........

They look a little spendy these days. I'd keep fishin' a while...

IMO, the minute washer faces on these 7/16" Cragar SS lugs working against the Cragar supplied washers are too small to be reliable for holding torque. Doesn't take much to start digging into the washers. Couple that with any wear on the studs over the years you may be constantly re-torquing...
