Anyone know what size the rear freeze plugs on a LA 360 is. The one behind the bellhousing. Also, what do you put on a steel plug to help it seal?
Thanks, Mike

Too much sealer will waeken the plug's grip on the bore. You're better off going Llike BJR with brass, and very, very, very little skim coat of sealer, or better yet none at all.

Thanks guys. I just have a bag of ones that are steel, and were in the trunk of my 383 powered Coronet. I might just go buy a brass one. Can you buy them individually?

Use 1 5/8" DEEP brass freeze plugs. Coat the edge with Permatex Super 300 sealer and drive it in straight by pounding on the EDGE. DO NOT put a socket down inside the freeze plug. It shrinks the OD as you pound it in, causing leakage. I used this method during my 10 year career building engines. Never had a problem.
